Another short post as I forgot to take photos again.
As a kid I completely missed the Nintendo craze. In fact I mostly missed out the whole console thing until a late PS1 purchase, although I was aware of the Mario popularity.
After an impulse eBay purchase one weekend I am now the proud owner of an Original NES and a few cartridges. Plugging it in a encountered the black screen that usually indicates a crusty cartridge connector. Disassembly is easy but cleaning the connector proved hard and fiddly. After a couple of failed attempts, with each iteration working slightly better than the last I decided to buy a new one from AliExpress. Fitting is very easy as it just slides on – and problem fixed.
And yes, Mario is a great game – even now.
